The Castelli Vantaggio Jersey is a high-performance piece of cycling apparel that combines aerodynamics and moisture management, along with versatility. The fastest race jerseys are lighter, tighter but have less material and less capacity to carry food and other gear. The race jerseys are designed for races that require complete aerodynamics while sacrificing some of the features that would make a jersey comfortable on endurance rides. The Vantaggio is a more flexible performance piece with about 20% more body so you don’t feel you are riding in a tight top. The body of the Vantaggio is made with the Velocity Rev3 fabric that is a combination of a polyester blend that wicks sweat along with Lycra® that adds more stretch. This combination provides a jersey that is aero enough for the demands of riding fast in a race, but it also allows bigger riders to be comfortable on long casual rides. Through the shoulders and back of sleeves, a 3D mesh adds more aerodynamics while allowing air to circulate. On the sides, a flat mesh is very porous so sweat evaporates and you stay dry and comfortable. The rear pockets, a bit larger than in Castelli’s race jerseys, are combined with a zippered pocket for keys and money. By increasing storage space, the Vantaggio can be worn on long rides or rides from your car or home. Finally, the YKK® Vislon® zipper is easy to slide open and close, while the Giro³ elastic waistband distributes the load.
