Castelli Aero Race 6.0 Jersey

Castelli designed the first aero jersey for road racing in 2006 when racers used skin suits to improve aerodynamics. Skin suits are inefficient at wicking sweat and there are no rear pockets to store energy bars or GUs. As a result, the most aerodynamic clothing was worn just in time trials. Yet when Castelli designed the first Aero Race Jersey, maximum aerodynamic clothing was introduced to road racing. Thanks to Castelli that has been breaking grounds in race wear for a century, cyclists can race in a fast jersey that keeps them dry and cool along with rear pockets that don’t sag. Each year since 2006, Castelli’s engineers have worked with the pro racers to imrove these versatile aero jerseys. By studying how air flows over the surface of a cyclist in the riding position, Castelli has been able to modify the cut and choose the best fabrics for maximum advantage. On its sixth year of making an even faster race jersey, Castelli designed the Aero Race 6.0 Jersey. Designed for fast riding—30 to 55 km/h (18 to 34 m/h), the faster a race, the more efficient the jersey is in tunneling a cyclist’s body as he rides his bike into the wind. The Velocity Rev2 fabric on front and sleeves is made of a lightweight polyester fabric that dries almost instantly. The four-way controlled stretch provides a maximum aerodynamic fit while feeling amazingly soft against skin. On the back where a cyclist sweats the most, 3D mesh maximizes breathability to keep a racer dry and cool in warm weather. Airflow shoulder construction, elbow-length stretch sleeves with raw-cut edge and a drop tail have been designed into the Aero Race 6.0 to make it even faster.
