Castelli Elemento Lite W Jacket

Made for a female mountain biker, the Castelli Elemento Lite Women’s Jacket keeps a female athlete warm but the highly breathable fabric keeps her dry when riding at high intensity. The mid-layer is a puffy insulation layer made of polypropylene which insulates but is still incredibly lightweight (specific gravity 0.6 g). The woven inner layer has enough permeability to allow air to get into the jacket and evaporate moisture. Sweat is inevitable when riding at a high intensity on a bike which makes this feature invaluable for a female mountain bike rider’s comfort and her ability to continue to recover between hard efforts. The fabrics have limited stretch so the Lite Jacket fits slightly looser than a typical race jacket. This design allows complete freedom of movement which is helpful when riding over technical trails. The jacket’s versatility is reflected in the inner waist closure that, if closed, will block out wind and if opened will allow extra air in to cool and dry. Three rear pockets provide plenty of space for the food needed to stay energized on long winter training rides.
