Castelli Free Protect Race Bib-Short helps you move easily against the wind and keeps you comfortable over long distances. The main fabric is made of highly aerodynamic Vortex dimpled fabric that supports without constricting. The fabric’s compression helps to stimulate blood flow which assists on-the-bike recovery. Secondary to the Vortex, the additional Dyneema® ripstop grid is a strong water-resistant fabric that resists tears in case of a crash. On inner legs, Forza fabric with 38% Lycra® withstands abrasion and it fits like a second skin so no material will ever snag on the saddle. On the front, the Doppio V construction forms two seams that create a cradle to support a cyclist on a bike. Mesh, sewn into the lightweight bibs, circulates air so you will never feel wet bibs on your skin. Castelli designed the bibs so they will keep the shorts in place with soft, minimal material which makes them nearly unnoticeable. The elastic in the GIRO 4 leg gripper is spread out over the surface making the gripper very comfortable against skin. Throughout the shorts, seams are sewn together with flatlock stitching, another feature that enhances comfort. The Progetto X2 Air chamois pad is Castelli’s best chamois pad made with unmatched softness. The multi-density foam provides the right amount of padding in the right places, so a rider is protected without excessive bulk. Castelli used minimal padding while ensuring a rider is supported, protected and completely mobile on endurance rides or top speed criteriums. The outer layer of the chamois has a four-way stretch so it adjusts to the specific shape of a rider’s seat area. An anti-odor treatment has been added to keep the chamois from getting smelly.
