You need the right speed suit to keep you comfortable on Ironman distance triathlons. The suit must fit properly, handle the distance, provide an aero surface while it protects your body on the swim, bike, and run. It also must help make the transitions easier and faster. Cutting off time and staying comfortable are two features not easy to find in one speed suit. The highly aero suits can be uncomfortable. A suit that doesn’t fit close to body can chafe skin and slow you down. Finding the right design for the female triathlete took extensive research. After testing on professionally sponsored triathlete, Castelli designed the fast, comfortable Free Sanremo 2 Woman’s Sleeveless Suit. The Sanremo 2 is the right suit for long-distances in the warmer months. Castelli engineers and sponsored pro triathletes have worked together to perfect the speed suit. After athlete input and hours of testing, the original Sanremo upgraded into the Sanremo 2 which makes leaning forward, bending over, and making the transitions easier thanks to its flexible construction. The front opening has been improved. It allows for resistance-free upright running and extra ventilation to keep a triathlete from overheating. The Velocity Rev2 main body fabric fits close to skin so no water nor air will get into the Sanremo Suit to slow you down. When you are coming out of the swim, water rolls off the suit in the transition. As you settle into your straight-line time trial position, the Velocity fabric helps you stream into the wind. You won’t chafe because the fabric moves with you, whether you are on the bike, in the water or pushing the limits in the run. When you sweat, moisture evaporates keeping you dry on the front and the back. Treatment on the back blocks 94% of UV rays, an important quality when you are out in the sun from early morning until the late evening. The tri-specific KISS chamois pad is made to fit a woman’s anatomy. It adjusts to your body and feels luxuriously soft. You will have the needed padding when you are leaned forward in your time trial position. In the water and on the run, the chamois pad shifts position so it doesn’t get in the way when you kick through the water, and you run in the final leg of the triathlon.
