The Castelli Mondiale Women’s Short has all the features that make a pair of comfortable and fitting cycling shorts—a soft fabric that compresses skin, fewer seams, a women’s specific seat pad and a soft waistband that doesn’t squeeze the waist. Castelli established a new frontier when it designed the double-layer Soft Touch waistband that lies flat and doesn’t constrict. The goal when designing the Mondial was to offer the female rider a light, soft pair of bib shorts that won’t tug, bind or chafe. Castelli’s new Cinquanta fabric is made with 50% real Lycra® so the body is supported underneath a pliable fabric. These bib shorts fit perfectly on many body types and they move with you. Fewer panels means fewer seams. The fewer seams mean more comfort—you’ll ride in very close fitting, aerodynamic bib shorts with no chafing. Comfort is also related to staying dry. The 3D shaped yoke Laser-cut ventilation holes on back of bib circulate air so as to evaporate sweat nearly instantaneously. The leg ending lies flat and is enforced with an added touch of silicone which keeps the shorts from riding up without pinching the skin. Castelli’s proven Progetto X2 Air Donna seat pad is specific to the woman’s body. Padding is thickest in the areas of the seat that receive the most pressure. The padding thins gradually so a woman is protected on those long rides without having to deal with a bulky pad getting in the way. To complete the advantages, reinforced no-sew side panels provide muscle support on hips and create a more slimming appearance.
