The Castelli Sanremo 3.2 Speedsuit is ideal for cyclo-cross racing in moderate fall and winter conditions. Being worn when racing against others in mud and rain isn’t a problem with the Sanremo. The slick surface of the 3.2 causes mud and rain to roll off the suit. The same slick surface compresses and supports muscles and provides a smooth surface for air flow. Fabric that stays close to the body no matter what the conditions are makes the Sanremo great on the road and also great when you need to jump off the bike and run over unrideable obstacles. When a little extra cooling is needed, the front is easy to open for extra air or a quick nature break. The upper portion is designed following the design of Caselli’s most aerodynamic Aero Race 5.1 Jersey which saves 20 watts at 40 km/h when compared to a normal race-fit jersey. Velocity Dry fabric on front dries nearly instantly and it fits the body perfectly with its controlled stretch. Compression band around waist adds to that perfect fit and mesh armbands increase how quickly sweat is pulled away from the body. At the back and sleeves, 3D fabric decreases the contact with skin so air flows and the clothing dries in a blink of the eye. The lower portion is the Free Aero Race Shorts, Castelli’s fastest cycling shorts. The leg panels are made with Vortex dimpled fabric that allows air to pass with less friction, less drag and therefore increases aerodynamics. The Vortex panel used up the hip and at the top of the rear offer the same smooth surface for air flow. The fabric used at the inner legs has 38% Lycra which ensures the shorts stay put as you pedal. The leg bands are made with a 3 inch flat raw-edge lazer cut design that is smooth and comfortable while keeping the shorts in place as you mount and dismount your cyclo-cross bike. The Progetto X2 Air Seat Pad is Castelli’s most comfortable pro-level chamois pad. The layer closest to the skin is soft and flexible so it constantly adjusts to the changing shape of your body as it shifts its shape as you move on and off the saddle. The seamless, four-way stretch is exceptionally comfortable and the o treatment keeps the germs at bay. The air that flows through the porous fabric keeps you dry and it also keeps the seat area from getting clammy and over-heating. Padding is placed thickest in the areas that receive the most pressure, but this padding gradually thins out so you don’t have a bulky seat pad constricting your movement as you are leaned over the bike or hopping on or off. Reflective detailing adds another feature that tops off this cyclo-cross aero speedsuit.
