Castelli combined their most popular tight, the Sorpasso 2, with their most popular jacket, the Perfetto to create the very comfortable Castelli Sanremo Thermosuit. By combining the best-selling long sleeve jersey and cycling tight, the bib straps are eliminated; this design prevents air from coming through the gap between the jacket and tight. The result is less cycling clothing weight and more warmth. The two fabrics used in the top create a stretchy top that fits close to skin, blocks wind, and creates a surface where water rolls off so the rider stays dry. The top portion of the Sanremo keeps away wind and cold rain. Additionally, the top’s zipper is easy to open, nature breaks are easy to take and three rear pockets are easy to access. Convenience is designed into the Sanremo Thermosuit. The tight portion is the ideal tight for riding in many different winter riding conditions. The fleecy Windstopper® X-Fast 2 fabric has been added to knee and thigh so the cyclist is shielded in the areas that receive most cold wind. The Thermoflex Core fabric is placed at the front, rear and in the area around the seat-pad; wind and rain are kept away while the compression is perfect; the tights will not crease nor pinch skin. The Progetto X² Air seat pad was designed after 500,000 km of testing in search of the most comfortable seat pad for long distance rides. The Progetto X2 has a soft, stretchy, seamless, o skin layer designed to protect against saddle sores. The padding has varying thickness: The edges of the pad are thin, but they gradually thicken to maximum thickness under the ischial bones where you sit. Perforated viscous comfort padding is added under the ischial bones and in perineum area for maximum padding in these highly sensitive areas. The padding makes these a pair of bib shorts with enough padding for protection on long rides while still being thin enough so a rider can be leaned forward on the bike and not feel a bulky pad beneath him.
