By blending the jersey with the shorts, the Castelli Sanremo RoS Thermosuit provides two major advantages for the racer: The Sanremo increases aerodynamics so you’re faster and it eliminates the drafts between jacket and tights so no cold air creeps in when training or racing in cold weather. The lower portion is based off Castelli’s best all-around tight, the Nano Flex Pro 2. Made using the Nano Flex Xtra Dry fabric, the rider is protected in both dry and wet winter weather. Warm and breathable in dry weather, the tight blocks wind, insulates body heat and wicks sweat. In wet weather, splashes and light rain roll off the tights keeping you dry while still evaporating sweat. A large reflective panel was added so a rider is visible when the sun is low on the horizon or obscured by rain clouds. The Progetto X² protects your skin while providing the right amount of padding in the right areas to keep you comfortable whether it’s a short fast ride, an ascent and descent on a mountain, or a hundred-miler. At the skin layer, a four-way stretch microfiber is soft and it moves with your body virtually eliminating saddle sores. The perforated foam backing evaporates body moisture, so you stay dry. The padding thickness varies depending on where a cyclist needs the most padding. Perforated viscous padding is added under the ischial and perineum pressure areas which are the most sensitive. The padding gradually thins, so you feel you are on seat pad contoured to fit your body. The upper portion is designed on Castelli’s new Perfetto RoS Convertible Jacket. The Perfetto Jacket is made using Gore-Tex Infinium™ 203 Stretch fabric which is lightweight, and it blocks chilling wind. On the back, the Nano Flex Light creates a surface where water rolls off so in case you are caught in rain, you won’t get wet. The Convertible is a removable-sleeve jacket with insulating, breathable fabric that lies close to body. The zipper sits just above the elbow and covers ¾ of the circumference of the arm making it a more versatile jacket. With the sleeves in place, the cycling jacket keeps you comfortable in cooler weather, regardless of whether it is dry or there’s a light rain. Remove the sleeves and you have a cover for your core and all you need are some Nano Flex arm warmers to prevent your arms from becoming chilled. The covered zippers are not visible from the outside, but you also don’t feel them on the inside. The seamed seals at the shoulder are and additional feature that ensures no water or cold air seeps into the jacket. This wind-blocking and water-resistant jacket is still very breathable evaporating sweat immediately. On the front of the jacket, extra warm fabrics are used to ensure the rider stays dry. On the rear, a lighter, stretchy fabric is used to ensure a perfect fit. In order to keep the cyclist’s rear warm, a dropped tail blocks wind from seeping in. Two pockets provide plenty of storage space and there is even a sleeve to store a bike pump.
