Castelli Sorpasso 2 Bibtight

Getting cold breaks down the motivation to train in the winter months. Castelli wants to make sure riders who want to stay fit in colder months can stay comfortable and keep riding. The Sorpasso 2 Bibtight, Castelli’s best winter tight, keeps the rider warm in a wide range of temperatures and has an amazing fit. Castelli accomplished both these features by combining their Thermoflex Core2 fabric with a standard fleecy Thermoflex. The Core 2 fabric has two layers—the inside layer is a hollow-core polyester that ventilates and keeps rider dry. The outer layer is nylon which provides a smooth surface for airflow. The combination of the two fabrics protects against wind and cold and with the additional Thermoflex sewn in, the tights optimally compress muscles and support a body in motion. In 2017, the tights were given a lumbar support panel to create an even more exact fit for a wider range of body types. The GIRO3 ankle grippers keep the tights from riding up the leg while they sit comfortably flat against the skin. A shoecover covers the flat lying ankle gripper. Castelli used the Progetto X2 Air, their best seat pad on their most popular bib tights. The seat pad has different amounts of padding in different areas of the seat. Perforated viscous padding is under the most sensitive areas and the remaining areas have varying levels of padding to protect the cyclists on those long endurance rides while never interfering with too much padding as a cyclist pedals. The layer closest to skin conforms to the shape of the rider’s seat and air flows through the surface of the padding to keep rider dry. The Sorpasso 2 Bibtight is ideal for those long rides in cold winter weather.
