The Castelli Team Sky Volo Bib Short is very close in race quality to Castelli’s top race bib short, the Team Sky Free Aero Race. While second behind the Free Aero, the Volo Bob Short is still a racer’s choice bib short—aerodynamic, comfortable and lightweight. For sleek aerodynamics, Castelli placed the Affinity BLC textured fabric on legs. The fabric’s texture creates a smooth surface for airflow while maintaining a light weight. On the inside of the leg, the Affinity Lycra fabric stretches and rebounds so there is never any short’s material snagging on the seat. The porous mesh woven into the leg grippers and the straps stays dry and cool. Flat lock stitching between the panels creates a feeling that there is no stitching—the surface of the bib shorts is very smooth and comfortable. The super soft, brushed microfiber in the KISS Air Seat Pad is seamless and it covers multi-density foam pads that allow air to flow through them. The design provides the right amount of minimal cushioning that stays dry even on long sweaty rides, a quality Castelli engineers developed after decades of research.
