Castelli developed the Velocissimo Sanremo Speedsuit with the sole focus of improving aerodynamics for WorldTour-level pro racers. The goal was accomplished along with creating one of the most comfortable pieces for cycling. The bib straps were eliminated when Castelli designed the jersey portion to keep the shorts perfectly in place. The upper portion is made for fit and comfort with Castelli’s Velocity Dry fabric, a lightweight polyester fabric with a controlled soft stretch that suits a wide range of body types. The same fabric dries nearly instantaneously. The short’s portion is Castelli’s top-selling Velocissimo short that fits like a second skin and keeps the rider dry no matter how hot and hard the effort. Constructed with the 210-gram Affinity fabric, the bib short stretches and rebounds immediately. The short’s fabric is combined in multi-panels so the Sanremo Speedsuit fits perfectly. Castelli’s KISS Air seat pad is designed to fit the rider as he is leaned over the seat. The seamless layer closest to the skin has a soft brushed microfiber top that adjusts to the rider’s anatomy and moves with him as he shifts his weight on the bike. Abrasion and chafing have been eliminated when Castelli removed the seams on the skin layer. They then applied a o treatment so the rider doesn’t get saddle sores and infection. The padding has been anatomically designed to fit the rider as he is in the bike position. The seat area that receives the most pressure has the thickest padding. The padding then tapers gradually so the rider is protected against the road’s bumps without having excessive padding getting in the way.
