Castelli Climber's 2.0 Jersey FZ

Feather light is the focus when designers are planning the construction of a typical climber’s jersey. Castelli made sure the Climber’s 2.0 Jersey was lightweight – after all it is designed for racers who strive to take off every ounce of weight before taking on a mountain climb. Yet Castelli, along with its hundred years of perfecting the racer’s jersey, knows that aerodynamics also plays a role on a racer’s finish at the end of a mountain stage. Alpe d’ Huez has steep, long mountain roads, but it also has descents. On the 100 kph speed a racer reaches as he descends a mountain, aerodynamics is of utmost importance. Castelli used a similar pattern as it did in the Aero Race 5.1 Jersey, one of the fastest jerseys on the market. The end result is a climber’s jersey that is lightweight, highly breathable and it fits close to the body so no speed is lost. No extras have been added to the Climber’s Jersey: this is a simple jersey for the maximum benefit. The lightweight Flusso 3D fabric keeps the jersey nearly weightless. The full length zipper has been minimized so it too weighs only ounces. Breathability is added with the mesh that circulates air to keep the rider cool and dry as he is climbing. The Strada Pro 3D on the back keeps the three rear pockets in place when loaded up with the food needed to keep a rider going as he is burning maximum calories on a climb.
