Riding through natural terrain leaves the mountain biker at the mercy of nature. While some trails may be easier than others, they all require skill and willingness to take risk. Many paths are narrow and winding, and some typically include steep drops and jumps. Cold weather adds one more element that may keep the dedicated mountain biker away from taking on the challenge of riding through natural terrain. SIDI strove to provide protection and comfort to the mountain biker who wants the challenge of riding on technical trails in colder, wet weather. The Frost Gore Tex 2 mountain bike shoe is SIDI’s cold weather off road shoe. Mud, water, and frigid weather are kept at bay with the GORE-TEX® waterproof, breathable membrane, and gusseted tongue. The Polyurethane heel cup is comfortable when walking and the shoe grips the ground when you are trouncing through mud and pushing your bike over unrideable obstacles. The stiff nylon MTB SR 17 sole transfers power from leg to pedal on those moments when you need maximum power to jump over trail obstacles. Yet, it’s flexible enough to allow some movement in your foot so you don’t cramp. A rider can perfect the fit by dialing SIDI’s Techno-3 system and tightening the Velcro for maximum performance and comfort. The Wire distributes the pressure equally, so your foot is balanced inside the shoe. In the Frost, you get a customized fit. The reinforced heel cup adds one more feature that keeps the foot in place to maximize power, support the rider when walking and protect the foot in case of crash.
