The Suomy GT-R short-tailed time-trial helmet provides a triathlete all the features he needs to stay cool and fast in a time trial. The vents and channels throughout the helmet are designed to open up air flow and keep a triathlete cool as his body will inevitably heat up on a triathlon course. The Suomy Minimum Contact System (SMC) adds more ventilation; it creates a gap between the helmet and the head. This extra space provides more air flow. Even the visor has ventilation holes along with an anti-scratch and anti-fog finish. These features provide all the needed ventilation without compromising the main idea of the GT-R time trial helmet—increase aerodynamic advantage. To improve the aerodynamics even further, a matte finish has been added to the sides. At a mere 230 grams, the GT-R is lightweight without compromising the safety features a helmet should offer a cyclist. Ventilated, lightweight and protection were the focus when Suomy designers made the GT-R. Protection in the case of a crash is ensured by the use of in-molding technology. The Expanded Polystyrene (EPD) absorbs energy on impact. By absorbing the energy, the athlete’s head will get less of a punch and therefore more protection. Fit is another feature provided by the GT-R which can be adjusted exactly to your preference with one easy turn of the rear dial. Comfort is enhanced by the padding that is removable and adjustable. Fabrics used in the padding have anti- l properties and are hypo-allergenic. The chin strap is also sanitized and it can be interchanged just as can the padding. Multiple features in the GT-R make sure your head will stay clean, protected and aerodynamic.
