Before racing in hot weather, slip on the road racing helmet, the Suomy Gunwind. Through a well-designed ventilation design, the Gunwind ensures a racer’s head stays cool and dry on high intensity rides and races. With the additional rain cover, the Gunwind will also keep rain away. Designed with the advice of the pros on Team Lampre-Merida, the Gunwind is a race helmet with an excellent aerodynamic design as well as top level protection in case of crash. The Gun Wind features in-molding technology which provides a helmet with very good protection in case of crash. The outer shell is made of polycarbonate for durability. The inner thermoplastic resin composite reinforcement strengthens the polystyrene allowing Suomy to use a low-density polystyrene which is not only lighter, it is better able to absorb the energy created on impact. The reinforcements also allow for deeper and more numerous vents that result in a lower weight and an increase of cool air which helps to evaporate body heat. Cool air is further circulated through Suomy’s very own minimum contact system that creates a gap between helmet and head. This gap also increases air flow. The right fit is also connected to a safe aerodynamic helmet. Knowing this, Suomy engineers created the biaxial size adjuster that allows a cyclist to tweak and perfect the fit with just one hand. The Gunwind is so easy to adjust; the fit can be perfected when riding a bike. A bug stop net shields from any bugs that may fly into a helmet and aggravate a rider whose focus is to ride a bike not swat away bugs.
